The First Dance Program 

It was developed by Dr. Bill Doherty and his daughter Elizabeth D. Thomas. It won the Modern Bride Magazine 2006 Trendsetter Award for teaching engaged couples how to handle 'The People Stress of Wedding Planning'. The class covers family conflicts, emotional blackmail by loved ones, in-law issues, unpleasant surprises, boundary issues with friends/family and how to work as a team towards the wedding of your dreams among other topics. This class is unique in its focus on helping couples enjoy their wedding day with minimal stress and closer family ties. 

The PREPARE/ENRICH Premarital Education Program

Prepare/Enrich is a marriage education & enrichment program by Life Innovations, Inc in  Minneapolis, Minnesota. It's goal is to build stronger marriages through strengthening relationships. The program utilizes inventories in educating couples about their relationship strengths and growth areas. Couples choices include: 

Prepare Inventory- Premarital couples, Prepare CC Inventory - Couples living together, Prepare MC Inventory - Premarital couples with children, Enrich Inventory - Married couples enrichment and Mate Inventory - Couples over 50 getting married or in a life transition.

The  165-item questionnaires that assess your relationship strengths and growth areas in the following categories: Communication, Conflict Resolution, Personality Issues, Financial Management, Spiritual Beliefs, Children & Parenting, Friends, Family of Origin, Marriage Expectations, Sexual Expectations, Leisure Activities, Roles in the Relationship, Cohabitation Issues (CC)

 How PREPARE/ENRICH works

If you live in South Florida: Palm Beach, The Treasure Coast, Broward or Miami-Dade Counties, you can physically participate in the program and receive the following: 

  • 3 or 5 (1.5hr) personalized education sessions scheduled around your availability and location in South Florida.
  • A certificate of completion that entitles you to a $32.50 discount off your marriage license application in Palm Beach & Broward Counties
  • The PREPARE/ENRICH couple’s marriage workbook
  • A brief summary of the inventory report showing your relationship strengths and areas of growth
  • A marriage gift book
  • Referral to a newlyweds group where you network with other couples in your first year of marriage.
  • Scripture listing for all categories covered (Christian couples).
  • Optional free bonus Honeymoon 101 session

Honeymoon 101 Sessions

Honeymoon 101 sessions cover issues related to the wedding night and the honeymoon. Topics discussed include the need for a doctor's appointment, questions to ask the doctor on procedures & birth control etc, must have/buy items, bachelor(ette) parties, creative ways to celebrate singlehood, honeymoon preparation, wedding night expectations, mental & emotional blocks to enjoying sex (referrals to therapy available), wedding night sex & the day after - having hot married sex!

PREP or CPREP Program

PREP stands for Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program and can be offered as CPREP - Christian based or PREP non-religious. The program is offered in 5-8 (1.5hr) sessions. Issues dealt with range  from communication and  relationship danger signs to physical & spiritual oneness among others for more information see their website. 

The sessions are relationship enhancing, thought provoking, eye opening and life changing. Most couples report deeper committment to each other, increased emotional intimacy and streamlined family goals.
